Preserving and promoting the art of printmaking.
Tiger Lily Press Board
Dedication. Expertise. Passion.
The Tiger Lily Press board is a 100% volunteer-based, diverse group of visionaries — people who have big-picture ideas for the printmaking arts. Our mission and daily activities are guided through legal governance and business management, supporting and championing education in printmaking best practices.

In my fully remote role as Assistant General Counsel for Lumin Digital, Inc. – fintech in San Ramon, California – my primary responsibilities include contracts negotiation, contracts drafting, and dispute resolution. It's also a passion of mine to assist nonprofit organizations in achieving their long-term goals. I currently serve on a number of boards in the field of Arts and Culture besidesTiger Lily Press as Board President: My Nose Turns Red Youth Circus, American Sign Museum, and Pyramid Hill Park and Sculpture Garden. An alumna of ArtsWave’s Boardway program, I volunteer at the University of Cincinnati College of Law for their Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic; Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio; and the Cincinnati Bar Association. While calling Cincinnati my home, I'm happy to be involved in so many of the organizations that our Queen City has to offer.

As a child, I could be found at any time with a library book in hand. Every Marguerite Henry (every book with a horse on the cover), Walter Farley ("The Black Stallion" series), Zane Grey, Max Brand; "Aesop's Fables", Sherlock Holmes…notice a common theme. Yes, it’s adventure. My journey in art became firmly grounded in high school. Four years of art adventures in a plethora of mediums: graphite, calligraphy, plaster cast sculpting, silkscreen, acrylic paint, and enameling on copper shapes. My art education continues with traveling the USA to attend workshops and attending courses closer to home offered by local colleges and studios. Exploration as an artist continues now with subjects as diverse as my readings and travels. Painting, pastel work, and printmaking in shades of color – or not – each is accompanied with a story that I wish to tell.

A mosaic of moments parallels the aspirations and achievements that have taken me to the present. The turning point in my award-winning communication arts career was receiving a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Irvine 1984 (Regents Fellowship and Teaching Assistantship Printmaking) and my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (magna cum laude) 1982. I also attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati full-time in the '70s before transferring to Wright State University to complete the BFA. Focusing now as a fine art photographer and upstream media creator, I explore visual and poetic responses grounded in memory, identity, and metaphysical reflection. Raised as an identical twin with two younger twin sisters in a new Delhi suburb, west-side Cincinnati, Ohio, my work functions as a form of ongoing prayer – memorializing personal heritage while examining the tension between divinity, unity, and duality. Through hybrid analog-digital processes, I frame layered metaphors and allegories, contrasting assumed reality with emotional undercurrents and latent ideation. My imagery navigates the interplay between destruction and transformation, evoking the inner and outer worlds we collectively inhabit.

A conceptual artist education consultant, I use an interdisciplinary, dialectical approach to addressing social issues surrounding race and language. Originally from Chicago, I've lived and worked in Cincinnati since 2007, and am a three-time recipient of the “Truth & Reconciliation”: Project Grants for Black and Brown Artists funded by City of Cincinnati, ArtsWave and Duke Energy; Ohio Pretrial Justice Grant; and The Awesome Foundation grants in New York and Philadelphia. I’ve chosen to create the change that I’d like to see and to work with people who are alive and document their voices and their realities; hopefully this helps create a spectrum of stories from my community that shows the diversity within our community in opposition to popular narratives about who we are.

An early proclivity for rendering first became a way to be noticed, leading later to others' expectations, which led to a strong ambivalence toward ‘producing’ per expectations. And eventually to the realization that my Life is my art. The rest is expressive Prayer. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature (English, French, Spanish) from the University of Kentucky; my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (studio art, printmaking, ceramics) was also realized from UK, 1977. My Master of Fine Arts degree followed, also at UK (studio art, painting, and drawing), 1984. I’ve always been drawn to exploring and expressing my joy and curiosity through objects around me. From my dad’s typing paper and pencils to my first BFF’s bucket full of clay in various forms of being, to crushing builder’s bricks for face painting before war in the fields to protect our secret forts. Woven cattail welcome mats nestled at the openings in the tall grasses hiding our berry-laden bowls... to fleeing from the billowing clouds’ dark shadows running across sun-drenched summer fields, as monsters or storms to flee!

A beatnik, senior citizen, flower child of the '60s – I've always hoped for a better world – for a peaceful life and championing fair justice for all peoples. Armed with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland (1966), I launched a lifelong search for time to develop an original approach to manipulating art materials. Drawing and painting with pastels and working with presses for many years at Tiger Lily Press in Cincinnati has become my strongest calling to date.

As a printmaker and artist, the natural world has been prevalent in my art for many years. Whether I’m memorializing and giving new life to the death of a neighborhood species or enlarging the microscopic inner workings of a leaf into vibrant, sculptural blooms, the natural world and all its cycles will continue to play an integral role in my work. I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2015 and my Master of Fine Arts degree at Texas Tech University in 2019. In addition to my role at Tiger Lily Press, I currently work as the Printmaking Lab Manager in the University of Cincinnati Printmaking Department and as a part-time printmaking professor. I also own and run my own printmaking studio in Northern Kentucky, Wild Berries Press. I've exhibited printmaking works all across the nation, primarily in the southwestern, midwestern, and eastern states. An active member of the Mid America Print Council, we promote awareness and appreciation of traditional and contemporary forms of printmaking.
